Hogs fall at Central Region Champ.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas sophomore Kate Lukomskaya and the doubles tandem of Anouk Tigu and Claudine Paulson both earned second-place finishes Sunday at the Wilson/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Central Region Championships at Headington Family Tennis Center in Norman, Okla.

Lukomskaya fell in the singles final 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 to No. 3 seed Ana-Maria Constantinescu from Oklahoma. Tigu and Paulson suffered the same fate in the doubles final, losing 9-7 to Oklahoma’s Teona Tsertsvadze and Constantinescu.

“Both matches went down to the wire, and I’m really pleased with our efforts today and throughout the championship.” Arkansas coach Michael Hegarty said. “We got a lot better this weekend and we continue to make solid progress as a team.”

Arkansas now has concluded its fall schedule and will begin team competition Jan. 23 against Oklahoma State and St. Louis at George M. Bilingsley Tennis Center and Dills Indoor Stadium.
