Hogs host WSU in non conference match

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The University of Arkansas men’s tennis team will take a break from SEC play on Wednesday to host the Wichita State Shockers at 1 p.m., at the Billingsley Tennis Center.

The Razorbacks are coming off an 0-2 weekend, as they were defeated by both Mississippi State and Ole Miss, 5-2. Against the Rebels on Sunday, the Hogs dropped the doubles point and then four straight matches, but the Razorbacks captured two wins to finish play. Chris Nott won both of his matches over the weekend in singles play, defeating No. 92 Artem Ilyushin of Mississippi State and No. 100 Marcel Thiemann of Ole Miss.

The Shockers travel to Fayetteville with a 7-4 record. Their last match was a 1-6 loss to No. 31 Nebraska, in Lincoln. The Shockers are led in singles by junior David Calvacanti, and in doubles by Calvacanti and Matheus Pereira.

The Hogs will return to conference play on Saturday, as they will travel to Knoxville to play Tennessee. For more information, log on to www.ArkansasRazorbacks.com.
