Hogs Improve with 295 in Second Round of SEC Championships

ST. SIMON ISLAND, Ga. Arkansas turned in a solid 295 in the first round of the SEC Golf Champions on the par-70, 6,991-yar Seaside Course at the Sea Island Golf Club on Saturday.

The Razorbacks remain in 12th place with a two-round total of 51-over-par 611 with the final round slated for Sunday morning. Tennessee leads the team chase at 24-over-par 584 with Alabama in second at 586 and Florida and Ole Miss tied for third at 588.

Arkansas sophomore golfer Andrew Landry continues to play outstanding golf and is tied for sixth place after Saturday’s second 18 holes. He fired a 2-over-par 72 in the second round and sits at 5-over 145.

Auburn’s Patton Kizzire leads the event at 1-over-par 141with a three-way tie for second at 3-over-par 144.

Beau Glover rebounded with a solid effort on Saturday, carding an even-par 72 in more favorable scoring conditions at the Seaside Course. He is tied for 52nd place at 15-over-par 155.

Barrett Lais turned in another quality outing with a 3-over 73 and is tied for 40th position at 152. Dalton Owens shot is second straight 81 and is in 59th place while Jason Turner rebounded with a 78 on Saturday but remains in 60th place.
