Hogs ranked 18th by CSCAA

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas women’s swimming and diving team is ranked 18th in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America’s inaugural Division I Coaches poll, announced Tuesday.

The Razorbacks have a dual record of 4-1 (2-1 Southeastern Conference) including victories over Kentucky, Vanderbilt and Kansas. The Hogs have one more meet left in their fall schedule, traveling to the Purdue Invitational, Friday through Sunday, in West Lafayette, Ind.

Georgia is the top ranked women’s team followed by Stanford, Arizona, Texas and Florida. The top five teams are separated by a small margin of votes.

"The closeness of the polls," explains CSCAA Executive Director Bob Groseth, "Illustrates that the coaches aren’t quite sure yet who the best team would be head to head."

As a whole, the SEC earned six of the top 25 spots in the polls with Auburn at No. 7, Tennessee at No. 13 and LSU at No. 21. Alabama and Kentucky also received votes.

The CSCAA rankings are based on each team’s best dual meet lineup as judged by voting coaches. Rankings will be announced four times. This first time coaches used this method for its Division I poll.
