AUBURN, Ala. — The Razorbacks finish the second day of the Auburn Quad with four more wins.
In doubles competition, the Hogs once again came away with three wins against players from Auburn. Hall Fess and Taj Harrison defeated Auburn’s Michel Monteiro and Rafael Rondino, 8-5. The No. 56-ranked pair Michael Ward and Nikolas Zogaj prevailed against Lucas Lopasso and Andreas Mies, 8-5. Matt Hogan and Matt Walters fell to Tim Puetz and Alex Stamchev, 8-5. Gregoire Lehmann and Chris Nott were victorious against Tim Hewitt and Daniel Cochrane, 8-3.
“We’re playing really well in doubles,” said Cox. “We’ve got to take some of the things we’re learning there and use them in singles.”
In singles play, Nikolas Zogaj defeated No. 65 Tim Hewitt in two sets, 6-4, 6-3. Mike Ward, Matt Walters, Gregoire Lehmann, Matt Hogan, Hall Fess, Chris Nott and Taj Harrison were all swept.
“We’re competing really well and I’m pleased with our progress,” said Cox. “We’ve got one more day ahead of us of playing and getting better.”
The Razorbacks have one more day of play on Sunday against the players of Army.
