Hogs Travel to Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The No. 65 ranked University of Arkansas men’s tennis team (4-9, 0-4 SEC) travels to Knoxville to play the No. 1 ranked Tennessee Volunteers.

The Hogs recently picked up their fourth win of the season against the Wichita State

Shockers on Wednesday. Chris Nott won his third straight match at the No. 1 position when he defeated Vlad Marinescu 6-2, 6-3.

“The Hogs gave great effort against Wichita State,” said head coach Robert Cox. “I’m really proud of them, it was definitely a good win for us.”

The Volunteers are undefeated in SEC play with a 4-0 record and 14-2 on the season overall. They are returning home after three matches on the road against conference foes Vanderbilt and Kentucky, and their final non-conference match against Baylor. They defeated both SEC teams and fell to Baylor 4-3, which gave them their second loss of the season.

Tennessee has four individually ranked players: Rhyne Williams at No. 3, John-Patrick Smith at No. 12, Tennys Sandgren at No. 44 and Matteo Fago at No. 51. They also have the No. 1 ranked doubles team with Smith and Boris Conkic, and doubles pair Williams and Sandgren are ranked No. 38.
