Hosting LSU, Texas A&M on Alumni Weekend

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas volleyball team hosts LSU Friday evening to open the program’s alumni weekend in Fayetteville. First serve of the Arkansas-LSU match is scheduled for 7 p.m. (CT) at Barnhill Arena. Entering the final month of the regular season, the Razorbacks are 16-7 overall with a 6-5 mark in SEC play.

All-Time Series vs LSU
Friday’s match is the second against LSU this season after an Oct. 8 five setter in Baton Rouge; the Tigers won. In the all-time series, the Razorbacks own a 28-19 lead with a 13-8 advantage in matches played in Fayetteville.

All-Time Series vs Texas A&M
With Sunday’s match, Arkansas is looking for its first home win against Texas A&M. It will mark the 10th meeting in the series; the Aggies lead 6-3. The Razorbacks tallied a road sweep at Texas A&M (Oct. 20) earlier this season.

Last Time Out
Arkansas trailed 2-1 and faced a five-point deficit early in the fourth set at Ole Miss (Oct. 29) before rallying for the team’s fifth five-set win of the season. The Razorbacks hit .500 in the fifth frame to complete the comeback victory.

Setter of the Week, Pt II
For the second time this season, sophomore Rachel Rippee was named SEC Setter of the Week (Oct. 30) after averaging 12.11 assists per set in road matches at Georgia and Ole Miss. Rippee tied her career high with 59 assists in the win against Ole Miss (Oct. 29).

Seeing 20-20
Redshirt senior Pilar Victoria had 26 kills to go along with a career-high 20 digs in Arkansas’ five-set win at Ole Miss (Oct. 29). She is the first Razorback with a 20-20 outing since 2010 and the 14th overall to do so.

RPI Watch
Arkansas slipped to No. 45 in the latest release of the RPI (Oct. 30) and remains one of eight SEC teams positioned in the top 50. This weekend features top-40 opponents in LSU (No. 36) and Texas A&M (No. 37).

Setter-Hitter Connection
Redshirt senior Pilar Victoria enters Friday as the SEC and NCAA leader with 5.75 kills per set while sophomore setter Rachel Rippee is second in the SEC and 12th in the nation with 11.58 assists per set. Collectively, Arkansas is 35th in the NCAA with its .256 team hitting percentage.
