Ingram advances at Western Amateur

FAYETTEVILLE – University of Arkansas freshman Kristin Ingram won her first round match play at the 107th Western Amateur Championship in Urbana, Ill., Wednesday. Ingram, a Pasadena, Calif. Defeated Allison Micheletti of Chesterfield, Mo., 1 up to advance to the round of 32 on Thursday. She faces Mandi McConnell of Grand Blanc, Mich., with a 9:07 tee time at the Stone Creek Golf Club, a par 71 course. Lady Razorback teammate Corinna Rees was not as fortunate falling to Amanda Johnson of Tulsa, Okla., 5 and 4. Rees was eliminated with the loss. Arkansas junior and defending national champion Stacy Lewis won last year’s Western Amateur title. Lewis recently qualified for the U.S. Women’s Open.
