Jackson Goes To Sparks Camp

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas senior Jessica Jackson travels to the West Coast to attend camp with the Women’s National Basketball Association’s Los Angeles Sparks this week.

Training camp begins April 23 with preseason games scheduled for April 29-May 8. The regular season tips off May 13. The 24-player training camp roster will be cut to 16 players for the regular season.

Jackson finished her career as one of just two players in program history with 1,700+ points, 700+ rebounds and 120+ blocks joining WNBA All-Star Shameka Christon on that list. She ranks in the Arkansas career records for points (3rd-1,865), rebounds (3rd-750), defensive rebounds (1st-517), offensive rebounds (T6th-233), field goals made 4th-639), field goals attempted (2nd-1,622), free throws made (4th-389), free throws attempted (6th-513), 3-pointers made (5th-198), 3-pointers attempted (5th-576), blocked shots (6th-131), scoring average (T7th-15.5 ppg), games started (2nd-113) and minutes played (3rd-3,722).

Jackson ended her senior season ranked 19th among the NCAA’s active career leaders in field goal attempts, 21st in points cored, 31st in field goals made, 34th in free throw attempts and 36th in free throws made.

The 2016 WNBA Champion Sparks are coached by Brian Agler and return the services of 2016 WNBA MVP Nneka Ogwumike, 2016 WNBA Finals MVP Candace Parker, and 2016 WNBA Sixth Woman of the Year Jantel Lavender.
