FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Former University of Arkansas men’s basketball player Delvon Johnson is one of six players that worked out for the Utah Jazz on Monday at their practice facility in Salt Lake City as the team prepares for the 2011 NBA Draft which takes place on June 23.
Johnson was one of two true forwards to work out for the team who hold the No. 3 and No. 12 overall picks in the upcoming draft. During his two years with the Razorbacks, Johnson made 36 career starts, hit 55 percent of his shots and was an SEC All-Defensive player as a senior when he blocked 91 shots and ranked 14th in the nation in blocks per game.
The Jazz are not the only squad that Johnson has displayed his skills for. The 6-9, Chicago, Ill., native has also participated in workouts for the Charlotte Bobcats, Chicago Bulls, Milwaukee Bucks, Oklahoma City Thunder and Philadelphia 76ers over the past several weeks.
