FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – After his second win of the season at the University of Texas-San Antonio Invitational earlier this week, the Southeastern Conference has selected Arkansas junior Craig Lile as Golfer of the Week.
“This is a great honor,” Lile said. “I played pretty good on Tuesday and didn’t find out until later that I had won. Knowing how many good players there are in this conference, I feel good about this recognition.”
Lile overcame a five-shot deficit going into the final round, shooting a 68. He shot a 69 and 72 in the first two rounds for a 54-hole total of 209.
The Capetown, South Africa native captured his first title of his career at the Lexus Intercollegiate last October.
In 23 rounds this season, Lile is averaging 71.60 strokes per round, placing him fifth in the SEC.
The Hogs will have a week off before competing in the USL Cajun Classic March 13-14.
