Kim Earns SEC Honor
HOOVER, Ala. – University of Arkansas junior Dylan Kim earned her first Southeastern Conference honor after being named Women’s Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Kim is the second Razorback in program history to earn the award joining #ProHogs Stacy Lewis who was recognized in 2008 for her work in the classroom.
A Plano, Texas, native, Kim joined the Razorbacks this year after two seasons at Baylor University. Kim has a 4.0 grade point average at Arkansas and a 3.85 cumulative GPA. She is majoring in economics and was a member University of Arkansas Athletics Department Academic Champions in the fall semester.
On the course, Kim has been a part of a record-setting season with the Razorbacks. She has competed in all eight events, helping Arkansas to a program single-season best five team titles. She was Arkansas’ low finisher, tying for ninth place at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic and has posted four top-5 finishes this season.
She currently ranks third on the team with a 71.42 stroke average and leads the Razorbacks with 315 par holes. Kim carded a season-best 10-under 206 at the Mason Rudolph Championship and has ranked among the top-15 on the ANNIKA Award Watch List which recognizes the collegiate the player of the year. The junior was one of three Razorbacks selected to the inaugural Palmer Cup team and currently ranks No. 12 in Golfstat, No. 19 in Golfweek and No. 10 in the SEC.
Kim was named to the 2015 and 2017 Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team while at Baylor.
Arkansas is in Hoover, Alabama, this week for the SEC Championships. Play begins on Wednesday with the Razorbacks pairing with Alabama and South Carolina in a 9:40 a.m. tee time.
