Kuhn recognized for big week

FAYETTEVILLE – Collin Kuhn has been named to the CollegeBaseball360 Primetime Performer Weekly Honor Roll for week seven of the 2010 season. The Beaver Dam, Wis., native capped Arkansas’ come-from-behind win in Sunday’s series finale against Kentucky with a two-out grand slam in the bottom of the ninth inning to send the Razorbacks to a 17-16 win.

Late-game heroics aside, Kuhn was strong all week in games against Centenary and Kentucky. In the club’s five games last week, Kuhn posted a .522 batting average (12-for-23) with two home runs, nine RBI and 10 runs scored. The Razorback sophomore also had a .577 on-base percentage and .870 slugging percentage during the week.

Including his game-winning home run, Kuhn had a career-high four hits in the series finale against the Wildcats. As the Hogs’ leadoff hitter, he scored at least two runs in four of Arkansas’ five games. Kuhn’s two home runs during the week pushed his season total to six, which doubles his total of three from last season. Currently riding a seven-game hitting streak, Kuhn is second on the team and 11th in the Southeastern Conference with his .377 batting average. He is tied for the team lead with 34 runs scored.

Kuhn moved to the top of the Razorback lineup on March 10. Since that time, he is hitting .380 with six home runs, 22 RBI and 24 runs scored. He also has a .464 on-base percentage and .746 slugging percentage as the Razorbacks’ leadoff hitter.

This is the third consecutive week an Arkansas player has earned a spot on CollegeBaseball360’s weekly list. Brett Eibner grabbed a spot on the March 23 list and Zack Cox was selected last week. The Razorbacks return to the field Wednesday at 6:35 p.m. for a midweek contest against Saint Louis at Baum Stadium.
