Kushner Makes Finals on One-Meter Springboard

COLUMBIA, Mo.,-University of Arkansas sophomore diver Brieanne Kushner made the finals of the one-meter springboard event with a 12th-place finish in the NCAA Zone ‘D’ Diving Championship, Friday, March 10, in Columbia, Mo.

Kushner did not qualify for nationals in the one-meter with a 467.25 score but she has another chance on the three meter, Saturday. Redshirt freshman Madison Palmer also competed on the one meter but fell on one of her dives and didn’t make the finals.

Arkansas diving coach Scott Reich said the Lady Razorback duo had a productive first day and the pair can still move on to nationals.

“Brieanne had a good, solid performance,” he said. “Madison did great but fell on one of her dives. For a freshman and with as little diving experience that she has, I couldn’t be disappointed. This is a very, very tough zone.”

Competition continues Saturday with the three-meter event. For more information on Arkansas swimming and diving, log on to LADYBACKS.COM.
