LaBarbera, Plasencia Move On

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. –Former University of Arkansas golfer Regina Plasencia and current Razorback Jordy LaBarbera both advanced through the first stage of the LPGA’s Qualifying School after a four-round event in Mission Hills, California, this weekend.

Plasencia finished tied for 11th overall shooting 65–74–74–68—231 while LaBarbera tied for 38th with rounds of 71–70–71–74—286. Both Razorbacks were inside the 60-player cut advancing to Stage II of the three-stage qualifier.

Plasencia’s final round was similar to her first as both were bogey free. She had birdies on holes five, 10, 15 and 18 to move on.

LaBarbera had two birdies and played well moving up the leaderboard in each round.

Plasencia and LaBarbera move on to Stage II at Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Florida.

LPGA’S CANADIAN PACIFIC WOMEN’S OPEN
Former Razorbacks Stacy Lewis and Gabriela Lopez wrapped up play at the Canadian Pacific Women’s Open in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, on Sunday.

Lewis finished with a final round 71 shooting 69–68–69–71—277. The Woodlands, Texas, native finished 7-under and tied for 12th overall.

Lopez ended her day tied for 34th overall. She posted scores of 73–69–61–69—282.
