Lady'Back golf improves to 10th Saturday

Jump to second round results DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The 20th-ranked University of Arkansas women’s golf team jumped two spots in the standings firing a solid 297 in second round action at the NCAA Fall Preview in Daytona Beach, Fla., Saturday. Arkansas moved up into 10th place with a 604 (307-297) and is just six strokes out of the top five in the toughest field to tee it up outside the NCAA Championship in May. Third-ranked Georgia leads the field after a second-round 295 for a 584. Number four Auburn is second with a 588 (298-290), followed by No. 1 Duke with a 594 (306-288). Number 12 Virginia, No. 2 Arizona State and No. 11 Wake Forest are all tied for fourth place with 598. Junior Ashley Medders leads the Lady Razorbacks after firing a one-under 71 on the par 72 LPGA Legends Course. Medders had a pair of birdies on the back nine and is tied for 19th overall with 149 (77-71). Sophomore Lucy Nunn is tied for 33rd overall with 151 (73-76), followed by freshman Alexandrea Schulte who is tied for 41st with a 152 (77-75). Junior Stacy Lewis carded a second-round 75 and is ted for 46th with 153 (78-75) and freshman Tanica van As is 86th with 165 (81-84). Play concludes Sunday with a morning shotgun start.
