FAYETTEVILLE — After finishing off the regular season as the Southeastern Conference Western Division champions, the University of Arkansas Lady Razorback tennis team appeared at No. 16 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings on Tuesday.

“The closer we get to the post season, the more important it is to stay high in the rankings,” said Lady’Back head coach Michael Hegarty. “It is especially important to us in respect as we attempt to host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament.”

Arkansas (14-8, 7-4 in SEC) received the No. 3 overall seed in the tournament after a stellar conference season, and will face the winner of Alabama and LSU on Friday at 10 a.m.

In the individual rankings, Aurelija Miseviciute fell one spot to No. 2 in the nation. Miseviciute has been ranked no lower than the second-spot during the entire spring.

Ela Kaluder also appeared in the individual rankings at No. 69, slipping only seven spots from her previous ranking of No. 62. Kaluder completed the spring regular season 15-7 and 9-2 in SEC play.

Kaluder and Miseviciute, both juniors, once again appeared in the doubles rankings, this time at No. 30 in the nation. The two finished 11-8 on the season and 6-5 in SEC play on Court 1.
