Jump to box score FAYETTEVILLE — A valiant effort by the University of Arkansas Alumni team was no match for the current Lady Razorbacks as the notched a three-game win Saturday in Barnhill Arena. Arkansas hosted the alumni welcoming back former greats Krystal Osborne, Sara Kincaid, Anna Velikanova and Michelle Coens winning the match 30-23, 30-20, 30-14, in just over an hour. "It went about as well as I could have hoped," said Arkansas head coach Chris Poole. The Lady’Backs are battling several nagging injuries and held three players out of the rotation and put others in new positions in order to play the match. Sidelined were sophomores Kristin Seaton and Christina Lawrence along with senior Kele Brewer. Seaton will redshirt the season while Lawrence and Brewer should return to the lineup shortly. Senior Denitza Koleva paced the Arkansas hitters with a .452 hitting percentage and a match-best 16 kills. Redshirt freshman middle Destiny Clark tallied 12 kills, hit .611 and had four blocks while junior Jessica Dorrell added 10 kills. Freshman Catherine Fowler paced the blocking effort with eight total blocks for the Lady’Backs. The Alumni got nine kills from both Osborne and Kincaid while Velikanova added seven. The Lady Razorbacks officially open the 2007 season traveling to Oklahoma for the OU Invitational Friday and Saturday, Aug. 25-26.
