Lady'Backs Prepare for No. 11 LSU

FAYETTEVILLE—The University of Arkansas softball team continues Southeastern Conference play when the Lady Razorbacks (24-28, 8-15) host No. 11 LSU (44-7, 17-4), Tuesday, April 25, with a doubleheader at 5:00 p.m. The series wraps up Wednesday at 5:00 p.m.

The Tigers lead the all-time series 30-5. Last season in Baton Rouge, the Lady’Backs won the series opener, 5-3, but then fell, 8-3 and 6-4.

Arkansas softball head coach Jamie Pinkerton said the Tigers pose a challenge for the Lady’Backs in their next to final conference series of the season.

“They’ve got a great ball club,” he said “They hit as well as anybody in the SEC. We’re going to have to stay within ourselves on the mound and play good defense.”

Senior Blaire Perry paces the offense with 43 hits and a .291 batting average while senior Mindy O’Malley follows with 42 hits and a .276 mark. In the circle, sophomore Katy Henry directs the Lady’Backs with a 2.02 ERA and 192 strikeouts.
