Arkansas finished with a final round 303 for a 914 (308-303-303) tying No. 28 Northwestern for seventh overall. Texas A&M, ranked No. 26, won the event wire-to-wire finishing with an 874 (291-296-287) followed by host No. 19 Michigan State with an 887 (296-297-294). They were the only teams with three rounds under 300. "We were rusty again today," said assistant coach Shauna Estes. "I hate to keep using that word but it really described how we played today. Our short game just wasn’t where it should be and our ball striking was a bit iffy. This tournament really gave us a great measuring stick and pointed out what we need to work on before the next trip. I really think we can put a couple of little things together and we will really impact our scores." The Lady Razorbacks were paced by Lewis and Medders who tied for 22nd overall with final 228’s. Lewis, the Woodlands, Texas, native, was consistent with three rounds of 76 while Medders improved with each round carding a 77-76-75. Freshman Alex Schulte finished tied for 30th overall with a 230 (81-74-75), followed by sophomore Lucy Nunn who tied for 36th with a 231 (77-77-77). Freshman Tanica van As rounded out the Arkansas scores finishing tied for 53rd overall with a 236 (78-79-79). Arkansas finished better than several teams in the Central region including Texas, Notre Dame, Missouri, Southern Methodist, Nebraska and Tulsa. The Central District Invitational is the first of six regular season spring events for the Lady Razorbacks. Arkansas returns to the Sunshine State March 5-6 for the UCF Invitational in Grand Cypress, Fla., before the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational March 16-18, and the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic March 23-25 as March winds down.
