Lile Finishes Tied for 30th at NCAA Central Re

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas golfer Craig Lile finished in a tie for 30th after shooting a final round 73 at the NCAA Central Regional at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla., on Saturday. Lile jumped 10 spots on Saturday to finish in 30th after moving up 37 spots on Friday to 40th.
Lile’s three-day total of 222 left him at six-over for the weekend trailing the tournament leader by 10 strokes. Lile shot 73’s in the two final rounds of the tournament and a 76 on day one after receiving a four-stroke penalty for having an extra club in his bag.
This was the final tournament for Lile as a Razorback. Lile finishes his Hog career with three NCAA appearances, two as an individual and one as a part of the Razorback squad, and five tournament victories including three during the 2000-01 season. Lile also holds the school record for the most sub-70 rounds in a career with 21.
Texas’s John Klauk was the regional champion finished the weekend at 212, four-under par. Martin Flores and Andy Stewart were behind him in second at 213 and third 214, respectively.
Kent State, Oklahoma and Purdue all tied for first place in the regional tournament shooting 883 over the three days.
