Little Rock on the Minds of the Razorbacks

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas wrapped up its game-week preparations for Louisiana-Monroe on Thursday with an hour workout on the practice fields south of Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

The Hogs will be making their first trip of the 2006 season to Little Rock’s War Memorial for a 6 p.m. kickoff with the Warhawks. The game will be televised on ESPNU.

“We had a good concentration day today,” Arkansas head coach Houston Nutt said following Thursday’s practice. “I have been really proud of the seniors and the way they have worked. You have to concentrate, and you have to come out with a purpose to get better.”

Louisiana-Monroe enters the game with a 1-6 record, but has a solid offensive ball club that can move the football.

“They (ULM) move the ball very well from the 20 (yard line) to the 20,” Nutt said. “They had 220 yards, plus, on Alabama. They are going to fake a field goal, and they are going to fake a punt, so get ready because they have nothing to lose.”

The first trip of the season to Little Rock promises to be exciting as Central Arkansas gets their first look at the No. 13 Razorbacks.

“There is no question about it (Little Rock being ready for the Razorbacks),” Nutt said. “I have already gotten a few e-mails and phone calls. They (fans in the Little Rock area) are excited, and they can’t wait. It has been a long time since they had a ball game down there. Usually, we have already had a game in Little Rock in September.”
