Magee No. 7 Arkansas Roll

FAYETTEVILLE – Casey Jo Magee tied the school record on floor and No. 7 Arkansas recorded the fifth-best score in school history as the gymnastics team posted a 196.875-192.525 win over No. 40 Pittsburgh in Barnhill Arena on Friday.

Arkansas’ bars total of 49.275 is the third-best in program history while the 49.375 on floor matches the fifth-best.

Magee won floor with a school-record tying and career-high 9.95. Ranked No. 1 in the nation on beam for the second straight week, she won the event with a 9.90. She also won bars with a 9.90 and tied for the vault title with teammate Jaime Pisani with a 9.875.

Magee won the all-around with a 39.625, which matches her own mark for second-best in school history.

"I’m pleased with our consistency," co-head coach René Cook said. "This puts us in a good position. We’re trying to get in position to be one of the top seeds in an NCAA Regional and this sets us up for a great meet next week as well (at home against No. 2 Oklahoma)."

In the first rotation, Arkansas posted a 49.175 on vault while Pittsburgh had a 48.375 on bars. The Razorbacks topped the 49-point mark on vault for the eighth consecutive meet.

Freshman Amanda Siebert had a season-high tying 9.825. Magee and Pisani each had a 9.875, and Sarah Nagashima and Mariah Howdeshell a 9.80.

For Pittsburgh on bars, Jen Liberato had a 9.75.

In the second rotation, Arkansas recorded a season-high 49.275 on bars while the Panthers had a 49.075 on vault. Arkansas’ 49.275 is the third-best bars score in school history.

Magee had a 9.90, Amy DeFilippo a 9.875, Pisani a 9.85, and Nagashima and Howdeshell a 9.825 each.

For Pitt, Dani Bryan and Meaghan Biros each had a 9.875.

Through two events, Arkansas had a 98.450-97.450 lead.

In the third rotation, Arkansas had a 49.05 on beam while Pittsburgh had a 47.60 on floor.

Magee had a 9.90, followed by Nagashima with a 9.85, Pisani a 9.825, DeFilippo a 9.75 and Howdeshell a 9.725

For the Panthers, Liberato had a 9.725 on floor.

Through three events, Arkansas held a 147.50-145.20 lead.

In the last rotation, Arkansas had a 49.375 on floor, which ties for fifth-best in program history, while Pitt had a 47.225 on beam.

Magee tied the school record of 9.95 while Pisani had a 9.90, Kelci Lewis and Nagashima a 9.875, and Stacy Bartlett a 9.775.

Arkansas closes the regular season at home on Friday against No. 2 Oklahoma. The meet, which is also Senior Night for DeFilippo, Magee and Nagashima, is at 7 p.m.
