McFADDEN JONES AND LUIGS FEATURED ON MIDSEASON ALL-AMERICA TEAMS

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas tailbacks Darren McFadden and Felix Jones and center Jonathan Luigs have been named to both the SI.com and Phil Steele’s College Football Midseason All-America teams.

McFadden was named to the first-team offense at running back by both outlets. The junior from Little Rock leads the Southeastern Conference and ranks third in the nation in rushing averaging 155.8 yards per game. He is only 32 yards short of passing Ben Cowins for the UA career rushing record.

Jones garnered first-team recognition on both teams as a kick returner. The Tulsa, Okla., product is the all-time kickoff return leader at Arkansas and ranks as only one of two players (Willie Gault – Tennessee) in the history of the SEC to return four kickoffs for touchdowns in his career. He ranks third in the nation with 209.0 all-purpose yards per game and ranks eighth in the nation in rushing averaging 126.2 yards per outing. He is fourth in the country in kickoff return average netting 34.4 yards per attempt.

Luigs was named as a first-team offensive lineman by SI.com and a second-team offensive lineman by Phil Steele’s College Football. The Little Rock native spearheads a line that clears the way for the nation’s No. 2 rushing offense. Arkansas is averaging 338.4 rushing yards per game.

The Razorback trio was also honored by Phil Steele’s College Football as first-team midseason All-SEC selections. Senior offensive guard Robert Felton and senior cornerback Michael Grant earned second-team All-SEC accolades. Senior strong safety Matt Hewitt, senior offensive tackle Nate Garner and freshman kicker Alex Tejada were named to the third-team midseason all-conference listing.
