FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The 2013 University of Arkansas men’s cross country schedule was released on Friday by head coach Chris Bucknam.& The Razorbacks return a solid core of competitors from last season’s SEC Championship and 10th-place NCAA team including senior All-Americans Kemoy Campbell and Solomon Haile. The season opens on Friday, Sept. 6, at home when the Razorbacks host dual meet competitions at the Agri Park Cross Country Course.& The competition kicks off a short six-meet schedule that continues on Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Southern Stampede in Joplin, Mo. The level of competition takes a big step forward on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the 25th annual Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville.& The Chile Pepper welcomed more than 300 collegiate runners and 34 teams a year ago and has become a featured event for teams across the country. On Saturday, Oct. 19, Arkansas makes a return trip to the Wisconsin adidas Invitational in Madison, Wis.& A destination race for the top teams in the nation, more than half of the NCAA field competed on the 8,000-meter course in 2012. The Championship season begins on Friday, Nov. 1, at the Southeastern Conference Championship.& The three-time defending champion, Arkansas looks to win its 21st SEC cross country and eighth consecutive conference title overall in cross country, indoor and outdoor track at the University of Florida’s Mark Bostick Golf Course. Arkansas travels to Waco, Texas, for the NCAA South Central Regional on Friday, Nov. 15.& The race serves as the gatekeeper for a trip to the NCAA Championship which is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 23, in Terre Haute, Ind.
