ATHENS, Ga. – The Arkansas swimming team closed out the Bulldog Last Chance Invitational with another first-place finish by freshman Nicole Menzel in Athens, Ga.
Freshman Kelsea Vance finished fifth in the 200 back with a time of 2:04.23 to improve on her best time this season. Fellow freshman Amee Pena was 10th overall as she clocked 2:07.74.
"Kelsea Vance and Molly Milborn had outstanding swims tonight," assistant coach Todd Mann said. "It was a great way to end the meet."
Molly Milborn improved on her best time in the 200 butterfly after she stopped the clock at 2:08.66. that time is two seconds faster than her best time during the regular season.
Three Hogs finished in the B finals of the 100 freestyle. Courtney Hubbard finished the race in 53.03 second to improve on her time from the preliminary session and place 13th. Alexandria Sutton and Alicia Meinz finished in the next two respective places in the event.
Nicole Menzel paced the distance event for the second day in a row at the Last Chance meet. The freshman earned an NCAA B cut time with 16:23.85. Her 100 free split time in the race was 9:54.70.
Katie Whitbeck also finished in the right of her 200-breaststroke race. She clocked 2:31.08, good for sixth overall. Courtney O’Grady finished sixth during the prelims in 2:28.00.
Next up for the Razorbacks is the NCAA Zone Diving Championships in Austin Texas. Juniors Liana Bugslag and Alex Roman, along with freshman Kesha Naylor are set to compete March 11-13.
