Mesquida, Sanjurjo Turn Attention To Thursday's Main Draw

TULSA, Okla. – With the pre-qualifying and qualifying rounds complete for the Arkansas men’s tennis team, the Razorbacks now look ahead to the main draw of the 2018 ITA Men’s All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The No. 14 doubles duo of Oscar Mesquida and Adam Sanjurjo will be the lone Razorbacks competing in Thursday’s main draw. They will face off against No.27 Kawika Lam and Enzo Sommer, of Washington.
The duo picked up the most doubles wins on the team last season going 7-7 in dual matches, and 5-3 in Southeastern Conference play. The pair went 2-1 over ranked opponents last season, including topping the then-No. 1 overall ranked doubles team from Florida in Alfredo Perez/Johannes Ingildsen.
In the first action of the 2018 fall season, the pair advanced to the Southern Intercollegiate Championships Division I doubles finals before falling in three sets to Henry Patten and Oli Nolan of UNC Asheville 4-6, 6-3, 10-8.
Mesquida and Sanjurjo both dropped their singles matchups in the qualifying round Monday. Play at the ITA All-American began with pre-qualifying action on Saturday Sept. 29. The main draw of the tournament will end Oct. 8.
