TULSA – Arkansas junior Aurelija Miseviciute’s performance on Saturday at the ITA Central Region Championship was no different than it has been the entire fall season.
Miseviciute claimed the Central Region title by shutting down Oklahoma’s Anna Maria Constantinescu, 6-1, 6-1. The win helped Miseviciute claim her third singles title for the fall season in only four events.
“I am very thrilled with our results from the tournament,” said Lady Razorback head tennis coach Michael Hegarty. “Aurelija has had a great week and she deserved the title.”
In the finals of doubles, No. 3 seeded Miseviciute along with teammate Ela Kaluder dropped a close match to the No. 7 seed from Boise State, Polina Kokoulina and Pichittra Thongdach, 8-5.
“We had exceptional quality play in doubles and singles all week,” Hegarty said. “Our entire team contributed greatly all week.”
