FAYETTEVILLE – University of Arkansas volleyball commitment Summer Morgan has earned national recognition with the release of PrepVolleyball.com’s 2011 High School All-Americans. Morgan, a native of Springdale, Ark., collected Special Mention accolades for her performance with Har-Ber High School and the Ozark Junior Club.
During her senior season at Har-Ber, Morgan led her team to the state tournament quarterfinals and went on to earn All-Tournament and All-State accolades. Her recent selection as PrepVolleyball All-American is her second honor from the organization. Morgan was previously recognized as a 2011 Senior Ace as one of the top high school seniors in the country.
Morgan joins fellow 2012 commitment Liz Fortado in postseason honors. Back in November, Fortado, a native of Flower Mound, Texas, was named a 2011-12 Under Armour Honorable Mention All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
Morgan and Fortado are part of the 2012 signing class for Razorback volleyball that also includes incoming freshmen Monica Bollinger of St. Louis, Mo., and Ana Sofia Jusino of Orlando, Fla. Fortado, Jusino and Morgan were all recognized as part of PrepVolleyball.com’s Senior Aces list. In January, Arkansas also added junior transfer Ashley Vazquez to its roster for the 2012 season.
