Nance, Smith Join On The Air With Bret Bielema

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – “On the Air with Bret Bielema,” Coach Bielema’s weekly radio show presented by AT&T and West Rock Coffee Company, returns on Thursday night at 7 p.m. at the Catfish Hole. Fifth-year wide receivers coach Michael Smith and the team’s top receiver through the first three games Jonathan Nance will be the guests as Arkansas prepares to host New Mexico State on Saturday.

Live from the Catfish Hole for the ninth straight year, Chuck Barrett, the voice of the Razorbacks, will host coach Bielema on the one-hour show while fans can make reservations to attend the shows by calling the Catfish Hole at 479-521-7008. Tickets are $25 and include all you can eat dinner buffet with catfish, shrimp and chicken.

A junior college transfer from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Nance has caught nine of 11 targets for 200 yards through three games. Six of his nine catches have converted first downs, while three receptions have gained 40-plus yards, including two that resulted in touchdowns. Last Saturday, he brought in three catches for 100 yards and a 44-yard touchdown. He ranks fifth in the SEC in yards per catch (22.2) and is one of six SEC receivers with two or more touchdowns of 40-plus yards.

A native of New Orleans, Smith has been very instrumental in making Arkansas a top choice for high school football players from the state of Louisiana. A total of 14 players have signed with Arkansas from the Pelican State from the last four recruiting classes. A record-setting receiver at Kansas State (1988-91), Smith’s work in his position room and on the field with the wide receivers has helped Arkansas become one of just three SEC teams to pass for over 3,300 yards each of the last two seasons (2015-16).

The show will be carried throughout the state of Arkansas on the Razorback Sports Network and locally in Fayetteville on 99.5 FM, 92.1 FM and 93.3 FM.
