Naylor finishes 10th, Roman 12th

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Arkansas divers finished day two without anyone in the finals of the one-meter diving competition at the 2011 SEC Diving Championships in Gainesville, Fla., on Saturday morning.

Freshman Kesha Naylor came into the event ranked second in the SEC only behind Kentucky senior Lisa Faulkner. Naylor came out in 10th overall, again, one place behind Faulkner. Naylor’s mark of 275.25 came after diving two awards of more than 50 points from the judges.

"At this point, we are ahead of where we have been in the past five or six years," diving coach Dale Schultz said. "The platform tomorrow is our strongest event and we have to potential to earn the best finish in Arkansas Razorback history."

Alex Roman finished in 12th place on the one-meter board. The junior placed 11 yesterday on the three-meter board, which was a two spot improvement from her 2010 performance at the conference meet. Roman and Naylor each scored for the Razorbacks for the second day in a row.

Complete results and team scores will be available after finals tonight at the conclusion of the one-meter finals competition.
