NCAA's best at Tyson Center

FAYETTEVILLE – Select members of the No. 7 Arkansas Razorback women’s track and field team will compete at the 2010 NCAA Indoor Championships, at the Randal Tyson Track Center, Fri.-Sat., March 12-13.

On Friday, multi-events start at 10 a.m., field events at 12 p.m. and running events at 4:55 p.m. On Saturday, multi-events start at 11 a.m., field events at 2 p.m. and running events at 6:15 p.m.

The Razorbacks will be represented by four individuals in three individual events. Junior Shelise Williams will run the 400 meters, freshman Stephanie Brown will run the 800 meters and sophomore Tina Sutej and senior Katie Stripling will compete in the pole vault. Williams is No. 2 in her event, Brown 10th and the vaulters rank No. 2 and No. 6, respectively.

The Razorbacks will also compete in the 4×400-meter and distance medley relays. Arkansas has the NCAA’s fastest mile-relay time of 3:32.87, also the Arkansas school record. Arkansas’ DMR has the No. 6 time in the NCAA, 11:06.56, also the Arkansas school record.

In the latest USTFCCCA poll, Arkansas is No. 7. The Razorbacks are one of seven SEC schools represented this week. LSU is No. 3, Florida is No. 4, Tennessee is No. 5, Auburn is No. 12, South Carolina is No. 18 and Kentucky is No. 25.
