Neumann wins NCAA Academic Excellence Award

FAYETTEVILLE – 2011 graduate and former University of Arkansas swimmer Erin Neumann was named a recipient of the 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award, the NCAA announced Tuesday.

Neumann was an honorable mention College Swimming Coaches Association of America Academic All-American in 2011. She was part of the 400 medley relay teams that hold the second-best and fourth-best times in Arkansas history.

The 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award was recently established by the 1A Faculty Athletics Representatives to recognize student academic achievement.

The swimming and diving team had a program-record 10 athletes honored as CSCAA Academic All-Americans in 2011.
