Ng debuts at World Championships
ROME, Italy — University of Arkansas senior Lynette Ng made her first appearance at the 13th FINA World Championships Monday in Rome, Italy, placing 63rd in the preliminary round of the 100-meter backstroke event with a time of 1:05.65. A member of the Singapore National Team, Ng is the Razorback record holder in the 100-yard back with a time of 55.55.
Fellow senior Yi-Ting Siow, swimming for her native country of Malaysia, took her place on the starting block of the 100-meter breaststroke event but was disqualified in the preliminary round.
On Tuesday, junior Erica Totten will back in the pool for the Republic of the Philippines, swimming the 200-meter freestyle.
