NEW ORLEANS – The Arkansas women’s track field team won its first NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship off the heels of 17 Razorback student-athletes who amassed 21 All-America accolades, announced Monday by the USTFCCCA.
Arkansas’ All-American count was the most of any program in the nation with 13 selected to the first team and eight receiving second team recognition.
Senior Taylor Ellis-Watson led the group collecting two first team honors (400-meter dash, 1,600 relay) and one second team honor (400 relay) for her contributions to the Razorbacks’ historic performance. Ellis-Watson scored 10 points for the team with a runner-up finish in the 400 and as the anchor of the 4-x-400 relay.
Capetown, South Africa, native Dominique Scott also earned two-time first team All-American recognition for gold-medal meriting performances in the 5K and the 10K. Scott’s victory in the 5,000 on the final day of competition clinched the team title for Arkansas.
