FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Recently dubbed the second-best program in the nation in the USTFCCCA 2017 preseason polls, the Arkansas women’s track and field team will set out to prove it deserves to be No. 1 on Friday during the season opening Arkansas Invitational at the Randal Tyson Track Center.

Easing back into the competition season, the Arkansas Invitational will see several top Razorback returners brushing off the cobwebs in alternate events on Friday evening.

“We have Taliyah Brooks back and Leigha Brown – both are all All-Americans,” head coach Lance Harter said. “The sprints are led by Daina Harper and then in the distances, Nikki Hiltz, Therese Haiss, our new freshman superstar Taylor Werner and we have a young lady that has been a proven superstar for us in Devin Clark.”

The Arkansas Invitational is the first of four home indoor meets for coach Harter’s squad and will be followed by the highly anticipated and televised Razorback Invitational on Jan. 27-28 which will feature 14 of the best teams from across the country.

Season tickets for the 2017 Arkansas men’s and women’s track and field season are now on sale. Razorback fans have the opportunity to purchase a season pass for $40 which includes access to all seven Razorback men’s and women’s track and field home meets.
