BY ANDRES FOCIL
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas rallied to win the doubles point and the No. 27 Razorbacks never looked back cruising to a 5-2 Southeastern Conference dual match over South Carolina at the UA Outdoor Tennis Complex on Friday afternoon.
With the victory, Arkansas moved to 14-7 on the season including a 4-6 mark in SEC play. The Razorbacks have won three of their last four matches including two of their last three against conference foes. Arkansas evened its record against ranked teams to 7-7. South Carolina fell to 14-11 and 3-7 in conference action.
“I was pleased with the way our guys came out to play today,” Arkansas head coach Robert Cox said. “We didn’t have Matt Simpson, but Viktor Hebrand stepped up and helped us win a big doubles point. Our top three singles guys took care of business and Imraan Ismail had a good win. Now we just have to try to close out the regular season with a big win against Florida on Sunday.”
