No. 9 @RazorbackWGolf At The ANNIKA

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The ninth-ranked University of Arkansas women’s golf team takes part in a new event this week traveling to the ANNIKA Intercollegiate Presented by 3M, in Orlando, Fla.

The event takes place Sept. 27-29, at Reunion Resort in Orlando, Fla. The 54-hole stroke play event will be played on Reunion’s Watson Course and will feature 12 of the top Division I women’s programs in the country. This is the second year of the event and it is the Razorbacks’ first invitation to participate.

Arkansas is coming off a fast start and team victory at the Powerade Cougar Classic in Charleston, S.C., to open the season. The Razorbacks had three players in the top-10 paced by Regina Plasencia who tied for third place. She was the Razorbacks’ top finisher at the 2014 event as well leading Arkansas to the team win that season.

The Razorbacks enter the event in the top-10 in both the Golfweek.com and Golfstat.com rankings but face some of the toughest competition they will see all year. The top nine teams in the country are in the field along with No. 11, 12 and Central Florida who ranks No. 31.

About The ANNIKA
The creation of this event now allows Annika to stay connected with the players through all facets of competitive golf. In addition, a gala reception will take place before the event during which Annika will present the inaugural ANNIKA Award Presented by 3M to the nation’s best female player in college golf.

The Course
Known for fast, firm and wide rolling fairways, the Watson Course is long and will require a good game plan for players this week. The course was designed by five-time British Open champion Tom Watson and the greens are a hybrid of Bermudagrass.
