FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The fifth-ranked Arkansas men’s track and field team will continue the next segment of the 2016 championship season at the NCAA West Preliminary hosted by the University of Kansas, May 26-28 at Rock Chalk Park in Lawrence, Kansas.

The top 12 qualifiers in each event from the two preliminary meets advance to compete June 8-11 at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon. The NCAA East Preliminary is also being contested this weekend in Jacksonville, Florida. A live stream of the competition will be available to fans on Thursday, May 26 at 4:25 p.m. CDT, Friday, May 27 at 4:55 p.m. and Saturday, May 28 at 5:55 p.m.

The Razorbacks lead the nation in NCAA regional entries boasting 41 qualifiers comprised of 31 student-athletes represented in 17 events.

Bowerman Watch List selection Jarrion Lawson leads the charge as the Texarkana, Texas, native will seek to advance to the 2016 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship in three individual events this weekend including the 100-meter dash, the 200 and his signature event: Long jump.

Talented in multiple capacities, Arkansas will feature three or more competitors in five different events including the 100, 200, 800, 1,500 and long jump.

2015 NCAA Qualifiers – Returners
• 4-x-100 relay – Arkansas returns three out of the four program-record and NCAA gold winning quartet with Kenzo Cotton, Lawson and Marqueze Washington.
• Jarrion Lawson – Qualified and scored in two individual events (100 and long jump) and two relays (4-x-100 and 4-x-400) last year and seeks to add a third with the 200.
• Ken LeGassey – Capped last outdoor season as 13th best high jumper in the country.
• Clive Pullen – Scored two points toward Arkansas’ 2015 NCAA outdoor third-place team finish and returns this season as the event leader.
• 4-x-400 relay – The same returning trio from the 4-x-100 proved capable of running fast 400s and make up 3/11 of Arkansas’ 46-second split and under club.
