MADISON, Wisc. – Redshirt junior Dominique Scott had another solid performance on Friday afternoon as she helped lead the No. 5 Arkansas women’s cross country team to a 2nd place finish at the sixth annual Wisconsin adidas Invitational at Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course.
Head coach Lance Harter put his fifth-ranked Razorbacks squad against 21 ranked teams in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Top 30 Poll in the event.
Scott finished the 6K race with a time of 19:54 to take eighth place and pace an Arkansas Razorback women’s cross country team that collected 191 points, en route to a 2nd place finish in the 38 team field. Scott had a 13th-place finish at last year’s Wisconsin adidas Invitational, completing the 6K course in 20:05.00.
Senior Grace Heymsfield, who placed sixth in the 2013 Wisconsin adidas Invitational with a time of 19:56, matched her personal-best time (19:56) to take 10th place. Redshirt junior Diane Robison crossed the finish line in 20:41 to place 44th.
Senior Shannon Klenke came in 57th place, finishing the 6K event in 20:47. Senior Jessica Kamilos rounded out the scoring rotation for Arkansas with a personal-best time (20:55) to take 72nd individually.
Sophomore Regan Ward came in 118th with a time of 21:28 (persona-best) to round out Arkansas’ top six runners.
The No. 5-ranked team in the nation finished 21 points ahead of 3rd place Iowa State (212), but were 104 points shy of 1st place (Michigan State).
In the women’s open race, freshman Kelsey Schrader turned in a time of 21:15 (8th), while redshirt sophomores Samantha Mohler and Valerie Reina finished 13th (21:29) and 25th (21:45), respectively. Junior Kaitlin Flattmann finished in 21:54 to take 33rd and redshirt freshman Chandler Crumblish crossed the finish line in 22:09, which was good for 44th place.

COACH HARTER POST-RACE SOUND
On Today’s Meet
“This is one of those meets you really have a chance to find out where you’re at. We are six weeks away from Nationals and we wanted to treat this like a rehearsal for that meet and the end result was a second place finish. We have a lot of work to do to catch Michigan State. They won by such a wide margin because of some of the tactics we pulled in the race and the performance of some of our younger runners. Our fourth and five runners have to move up closer to the front earlier in the race and if we do that, we’ll have a fantastic season.”
On The Team
“I’m very pleased with the performances of our top two runners. Dominique and Grace both had an outstanding race today and I told them after the race when they see the number of all-Americans they beat today they’ll be very impressed. They both have the ability to finish even higher at Nationals, which is still six weeks away, but I’m elated with their performances.”
