No. 5 Women's @RazorbackTF Takes Team Title at Razorback Invite

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The No. 5 University of Arkansas women’s track and field team ran away with the team title at the 2015 Razorback Invitational on Saturday at the Randal Tyson Track Center. The Razorbacks picked up the win with 111 points, 27 points better than second place No. 1 Florida.

Junior Taylor Ellis-Watson (52.14) and senior Sparkle McKnight (52.67) finished first and third, respectively, in the 400 meter dash, while senior Chrishuna Williams finished second and set a personal-best in the 800 meter invitational. Williams finished in 2:05.00, which is the top time in the SEC and the NCAA so far this season.

Tamara Myers has a solid showing in the triple jump. The senior captured a second-place finish with her mark of 43-11.75, which was also a personal-best.

The 3,000 meter invitational race saw a trio of Razorbacks achieve personal-best marks. Senior Diane Robison (9:12.08), junior Jessica Kamilos (9:24.43) and senior Shannon Klenke (9:29.94) finished used their personal-best performances to finish third, fifth and sixth, respectively.

The Razorbacks will now head to Albuquerque, N.M. for the New Mexico Invite on Saturday, Feb. 7.

Fayetteville, the “Track Capital of the World”, will be at the center of the track and field universe on the weekend of March 13-14 as the Razorbacks will host the 2015 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Randal Tyson Track Center, the home of the “Fastest Indoor Track in the World”. Since the facility’s opening in 2000, Arkansas and the Randal Tyson Track Center have hosted the event 11 times, including nine straight seasons and 11 of the last 13 championships.

A two-day, all-session ticket to the NCAA Indoor Championships is $40 for reserved seating and $30 for general admission adult ticket.
