No. 11 Gym'Backs start with bye at SEC Championship

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The 11th-ranked University of Arkansas gymnastics teams begins the 2007 Southeastern Conference Championship with a bye in the first rotation at ALLTEL Arena Saturday. Arkansas opens the seven-team meet with a bye then moves to vault, bye 2, bars, beam, bye 3 and finishes on floor in one of the nation’s toughest collegiate competitions. “We’re very pleased with the draw,” said co-head coach Rene Cook. “It’s just about the best place to start. We’re so excited about SECs being in North Little Rock and having the opportunity to showcase our sport in the state.” Top-ranked Florida headlines the teams at the league championship. Also competing is No. 2 Georgia, No. 3 Alabama, No. 4 LSU, No. 11 Arkansas, No. 15 Auburn and No. 25 Kentucky. Competition gets underway at 6:00 p.m. Saturday.
