No. 12 heading to SEC meet

FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas ended the regular season and heads into this week’s Southeastern Conference Gymnastics Championship as the 12th-ranked team in the nation in the GymInfo national rankings.

The Razorbacks closed the regular season last weekend by setting school records for dual meet victories with seven, dual meet road wins with four and SEC wins with five. Arkansas tied for the SEC regular-season title at 5-1.

In the individual events, the Razorbacks are No. 12 on vault, No. 20 on bars, No. 13 on beam and No. 10 on floor.

Individually, junior All-American Jaime Pisani is No. 3 in the country in the all-around and on floor, and tied for No. 15 on vault.

She won the all-around title for the ninth time last weekend and leads the club with 26 individual titles on the season, including nine all-around, four vault, three bars, one beam and nine on floor.

In other national individual rankings, freshman Katherine Grable is tied for No. 15 in the all-around, No. 20 on floor and tied for No. 29 on beam. Sophomore Jordan Salsberg is No. 32 in the all-around.

Grable won vault and beam titles last weekend, and is second on the team with eight individual wins. Salsberg has two wins this year.

In the South Central Region rankings, Arkansas is No. 3 overall, No. 3 on vault, No. 4 on bars, No. 3 on beam and No. 4 on floor.

Individually, Pisani is No. 1 in the all-around and on floor, tied for No. 3 on vault, tied for No. 10 on bars and No. 12 on beam.

Grable is No. 3 in the all-around and Salsberg No. 6.

Others on vault are Grable tied for No. 12, senior All-American Michelle Stout tied for No. 20 and Salsberg tied for No. 24.

On bars, Stout is tied for No. 26, and Salsberg and junior Genny Salvatore are tied for No. 29.

On beam, Grable is No. 8, Salsberg No. 17, senior Stacy Bartlett tied for No. 20 and freshman Scarlett Williams is tied for No. 22.

On floor, Grable is No. 7, sophomore Kelci Lewis is tied for No. 23 and freshman Bailee Zumwalde is tied for No. 30.

The SEC Championship is Saturday at 4 p.m. in Birmingham, Ala., at the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center.
