No. 12 in gym rankings

FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas’ gymnastics team is ranked No. 12 in the country in this week’s GymInfo national rankings.

The Razorbacks are coming off Friday’s 195.325-194.875 victory at No. 19 LSU.

The win in Baton Rouge, La., was the first for the Razorbacks, which came a week after Arkansas recorded its first-ever win over Georgia with the 195.775-195.40 victory over the No. 4 Gym Dogs in Fayetteville on Feb. 4. Arkansas is 2-1-1 in its last four meetings with LSU after the Tigers won the first 18 meetings in the series.

Arkansas is 4-2 overall and 4-1 in the Southeastern Conference. Arkansas has won four straight, all in SEC competition, with three of those on the road. The conference win total and road win total are program highs.

In the individual events, the Razorbacks are No. 14 on vault, No. 20 on bars, tied for No. 16 on beam and No. 6 on floor.

Individually, junior All-American Jaime Pisani is No. 5 in the country on floor, No. 12 in the all-around and tied for No. 35 on vault. Freshman Katherine Grable is No. 38 on floor and junior Genny Salvatore is tied for No. 41 on bars.

In the South Central Region rankings, Arkansas is No. 3 overall, No. 3 on vault, No. 4 on bars, No. 3 on beam and No. 2 on floor.

Individually, Pisani is No. 2 in the all-around, Grable No. 9 and sophomore Jordan Salsberg No. 14.

On floor, Pisani is No. 1, Grable No. 5, freshman Bailee Zumwalde No. 16, Salsberg No. 25 and sophomore Kelci Lewis No. 28.

Pisani is tied for No. 4 on vault, senior All-American Michelle Stout is No. 18, Grable is tied for No. 19, sophomore Amanda Siebert is tied for No. 23 and Salsberg is No. 25.

On bars, Salvatore is No. 4, Pisani No. 5, freshman Shelby Salmon tied for No. 24 and junior Mariah Howdeshell is tied for No. 27.

On beam, Pisani is No. 13, Grable tied for No. 19, freshman Scarlett Williams is No. 22, Howdeshell No. 28 and Salsberg tied for No. 30.

Arkansas returns home to Barnhill Arena this week to face No. 28 Brigham Young on Friday at 7 p.m. BYU is the seventh top 30 opponent for the Razorbacks in seven weeks this season, and Arkansas is looking for its fifth consecutive victory.
