No. 26 Lady Razorback tennis hosts Louisiana-Lafayette on Thursday

FAYETTEVILLE- There’s no place like home.

The 26th-ranked University of Arkansas Lady Razorback tennis team will welcome the warmth of the Dills Indoor Tennis Center Thursday against Louisiana-Lafayette at 2:00 p.m.

Arkansas is bringing their action back to Fayetteville after five consecutive road matches.

“Our past five road matches we have made great strides and shown signs of improvement,” said Lady’Back head coach Michael Hegarty.

The Lady’Backs are coming off a 5-1 victory over No. 44 North Carolina State, putting their record at 5-4, with all four losses outside of the Billingsley Tennis Center to ranked opponents.

In Thursday’s latest Intercollegiate Tennis Rankings junior Aurelija Miseviciute, 6-1, came in at No.2 in singles, while freshman teammate Anouk Tigu blasted onto the scene at No. 61 with a record of 5-3.

In doubles the Lady’Backs had two duos appearing in the top 60. Miseviciute and Ela Kaluder snatched the 23rd position while Maryori Franco and Nanar Airapetian are ranked No. 59.

“Doubles play has been solid for us so far this season,” Hegarty said. “Along with a mix of freshman and upperclassmen in singles really makes me proud with the way my girls have been competing.”

The ULL Ragin Cajuns’support a 6-1 record and are coming off an upset against 62nd-ranked New Mexico.

“Louisiana-Lafayette always presents a tough match up for us,” Hegarty said.
