NYC up next for Women?s Track

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – No. 12 Arkansas Razorback women’s track and field will continue the 2009 indoor season with the another road trip. The Hogs will compete at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational this weekend.

Expected to compete are Janine Davis, Samantha Learch and Lauren Lewis in the 1,000 meters and Tara Diebold, Sarah Landau, Katie Stripling and Tina Sutej in the pole vault.

Teams that are scheduled to compete are No. 25 Baylor, No. 19 BYU, Duke, No. 8 Florida State, Georgetown, Illinois, Iona, Iowa, Kansas, No. 5 LSU, No. 18 North Carolina, Ohio State, Oklahoma, No. 4 Oregon, Princeton, No. 11 South Carolina, No. 6 Texas, No. 1 Texas A&M, No. 2 Tennessee and USC.

In the latest U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches’ Association poll, released Feb. 4, Arkansas sits at No. 12. Texas A&M, Tennessee and Michigan rank in the top three. Arkansas is one of five SEC schools listed in the poll.

Sophomore Catherine White, junior Katie Stripling (pole vault) and the 4×400-meter relay hold the top spots in the SEC. Additionally, the Razorbacks hold six spots in the top three in four different events.
