FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas men’s basketball game with the Ole Miss Rebels, scheduled for Saturday, February 5, is slated for a 5 p.m. tip at Bud Walton Arena, and will be broadcast on ESPN2. As a courtesy to students on campus and in the area who continue to be affected by the winter weather conditions, the Athletic Department is again offering free admission to Arkansas students for the men’s basketball game.
University of Arkansas students will be admitted by showing their UA student ID card at the east entrance of Bud Walton Arena. Student seating will be located in the regular student sections located in the southeast corner of the arena on the lower level. Based on the number of students in attendance, the student section may be expanded into the east baseline (team tunnel area) of the arena. Specific seating instructions for students will be provided be Event Management upon arrival.
The Razorback Athletic Department strongly encourages all students and fans to use their best judgment in regards to determining their attendance at Saturday’s game. Fans planning to make their way to Bud Walton Arena should allow extra time and proceed with caution when traveling to and from the facility as well as when walking around, to and from the building.
As of Friday afternoon, it is anticipated that game shuttles out of Lots 56 and 67 will run as scheduled and be available to any fan wishing to ride a shuttle. Employee shuttles are also expected to run as scheduled. Parking lot capacity will be monitored and access to lots in closer proximity to the arena may be made available nearer to game time. Further details regarding potential parking availability to patrons will be communicated by parking lot attendants upon arrival.
The Razorbacks have enjoyed tremendous student crowds since Southeastern Conference play began with an excess of more than 1,000 University of Arkansas students attending each of the last two SEC games. Despite the winter weather that blanketed Northwest Arkansas, a vocal crowd of more than 7,000 attended Arkansas’ last game against Georgia with nearly half that number representing the Arkansas student body.
