On the pitch at MSU

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Following Friday’s game at Missouri, Arkansas’ soccer team remains in Missouri for Sunday’s 4 p.m. contest at Missouri State.

The Razorbacks are 2-3 following Friday’s 4-0 loss at Missouri while MSU is 4-2 following Friday’s 3-2 home win over Oklahoma

"We need to have more confidence when we go to goal," head coach Erin Aubry says. "We have to continue to develop the mentality that when we create (scoring opportunities), we’ve done the hard part. Now we need to stick it into the back of the net."

Arkansas leads the all-time series with Missouri State 9-2, but the series is tied 2-2 in Springfield. The Razorbacks won in Fayetteville last year, 2-0, and in their last visit to Springfield, 1-0 in 2008.

The Bears were 9-6-3 a year ago, including 4-1-1 in the Missouri Valley Conference.

The Missouri State game is the fifth straight for Arkansas on the road. MSU is also the fifth of six opponents this season coming off a winning record in 2009.

"Part of the reason we put these games on the schedule is to teach us a lesson," Aubry says. "Now our job is to respond to the lesson and make sure that we learn something."
