Open Floor, Turbo Engaged
Razorback Basketball’s newcomer introductions continues with Parkview High School standout Khalil Garland.
Ranked as high as the No. 56 player in the nation in the class of 2017 by ESPN.com, Garland is a 6-6 guard who looks to add to an already athletic class.
ESPN rated him as a four-star prospect out of high school, while Rivals, Scout and 247Sports all regarded him as a three-star recruit. The consensus No. 2 player in the state of Arkansas, behind fellow incoming Razorback Daniel Gafford, Garland is a versatile guard who not only loves to run the floor, but can also use his speed to take on his defender one-on-one in the half court and get to the rim.

“He is long, athletic and has the ability to attack the defense and distribute the ball,” said Arkansas head coach Mike Anderson. “He has established himself as one of the elite players in the country. Khalil has incredible basketball IQ, knows how to score and makes everyone around him better with his passing ability. He plays with a big time motor and comes from a winning culture that captured the State Championship last season.”
Garland led the Patriots to the 2017 5A State Title game, falling to fellow incoming freshman Darious Hall and the Mills University Studies Comets. Garland was a three-time All-State selection, two-time All-Tournament selection and was named the 2016 State Tournament MVP after leading Parkview to the 2016 Arkansas 6A State Championship behind a 20-point performance in the title game.
