FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas hosts Oral Roberts in baseball action at Baum Stadium Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. as the two teams wrap up a home-and-home series that the Razorbacks lead one game to none after beating the Golden Eagles in Tulsa two weeks ago.
The Hogs set a school record with eight home runs in the 15-8 win over ORU at J.L. Johnson Stadium on April 12 in Tulsa. Danny Hamblin tied the school record in that game with three home runs.
The 16th-ranked Razorbacks (31-11, 8-10 SEC) now leads the all-time series 58-31-1. The series dates back to the 1970 season. The Razorbacks have a 20-5 record against the Golden Eagles since the 1995 season, including an 8-3 mark at Baum Stadium. The game can be heard on the Razorback Baseball Radio Network.
ORU did not play last week so the Hogs will face rested Golden Eagle staff. Oral Roberts is 22-15 on the season and 7-1 in Mid-Con action.
Arkansas is trying to snap a three-game skid after dropping the LSU series at Baum Stadium this past weekend.
Junior college transfer Devin Collis will most likely get the start on the mound for the Razorbacks. The left-hander is 2-0 on the season with a 4.26 ERA in 31.2 innings of work.
Danny Hamblin has been the driving force behind the Hogs’ offense over the past month of the season. He is hitting .369 on the season with 10 home runs and 39 RBI.
Jon Tackett is the Golden Eagles leading hitter with a .301 average and 15 RBI. ORU is hitting .270 as a team this season and scoring six runs per game. The Oral Roberts pitching staff has a 3.51 ERA and is holding opponents to a .240 batting average.
Following the ORU game the Razorbacks will travel to SEC foe Kentucky for a three-game series against the Wildcats. All three games against UK can be heard on RBRN and Saturday’s game will be televised on Fox Sports Net at 3 p.m.
